Station set to go for playground
St Arnaud children could soon be enjoying the delights of a much bigger community playground.
Northern Grampians Shire Council has approved demolition of a former Country Fire Authority station with work to start as soon as services are disconnected.
The former station site land will become part of St Arnaud Childcare Centre’s playground.
Mayor Tony Driscoll said if all went to plan, demolition would be complete by the end of June. “It is exciting to be removing an eyesore and replacing it with a playground that will benefit so many in the St Arnaud community,” he said.
There will be no interruption to activities at the centre during demolition.
