Money for emergency teams
Wimmera, Mallee and Grampians emergency service volunteer organisations will be better equipped after receiving Emergency Services Volunteer Sustainability grants.
More than 280 grants worth more than $3.6-million will go to Victorian volunteers in the latest round of the ESVS grants program.
Emergency Services Minister James Merlino announced the recipients.
“Congratulations to all volunteers across Victoria who secured funding for valuable new equipment that will help them get on with the job of keeping communities safe,” he said.
“Our volunteers put in huge hours away from their friends and families to rescue people in rips, fires, floods and storms – they deserve nothing less than the best equipment.”
Grants are for specific operational equipment, training and development, facility improvement, community engagement and education.
