Jochinke: Help shape our future
Transport, education and health will be key topics for discussion at the Wimmera Southern Mallee regional assembly next month.
The assembly will be at Horsham Town Hall on August 2 from 5.30pm to 8.20pm.
Wimmera Southern Mallee Regional Partnership chairman David Jochinke said registrations were filling fast and encouraged people to sign up to be part of the future of the region.
He said this year’s event would follow on from a successful 2016 assembly.
“This year we want to dig a little deeper into some of the key issues and opportunities that we heard about last year,” he said.
“Those issues include local infrastructure, transport, education, health, economic development, community and energy and the environment.
“When people register to attend, they can nominate a theme or topic they are most interested in.
“We are very much looking forward to hearing from our residents about how we can

make the Wimmera-southern Mallee an even better place to live, work and play.”
Mr Jochinke said people who were unable to attend the assembly could participate in other channels of engagement.
He said people could fill in postcards seeking ‘big, innovative or original ideas to make the region’s future better’.
Reply-paid postcards will be available from councils, libraries, cafes and community centres.
