Bureau statistics trend concerning
Member for Lowan Emma Kealy fears latest data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics reflects a concerning trend in the number of unemployed people in north-west Victoria.
She said the number of unemployed people in north-west Victoria had risen from 2343 in September 2016 to 3561 in September 2017, an increase of more than 50 percent.
“This is an alarming trend,” she said. “We need a government that supports small business in regional Victoria, not one that neglects these important local employers.
“The government should be doing all it can to support local people, small businesses and jobs growth.”
