Night to support aged care

-

Harvey Norman in Ararat will host a fundraising shopping night on November 23 on behalf of East Grampians Health Service Aged Care Auxiliary.

The shop will offer a variety of savings storewide and draw prizes including a dishwater and queen-size mattress at half-hourly lucky prize draws. There will also be a sausage sizzle as part of the promotion.

All proceeds from the night will go towards enhancing the lives of residents of Garden View Court and 70 Lowe Street, East Grampians Health Service’s two Ararat aged-care facilities.

Auxiliary president Libby Mccormick said in the past year the group had purchased a faux aquarium for the sensory room at 70 Lowe Street and a raised garden bed for Garden View Court.

“The auxiliary also offers support to residents in many other ways,” she said. “We provide Christmas and Easter celebrations for residents of both facilities, with vouchers purchased for plants, we have paid for residents to attend a lunch at Willaura, and we also volunteer at both Garden View Court and 70 Lowe Street on a weekly basis.”

Mrs Mccormick encouraged anyone looking for an early Christmas bargain to attend the shopping night.

“We very much appreciate the support of Ian Meyer and his team at Harvey Norman Ararat, who have planned an exciting night of shopping, bargains, lucky-prize draws and auctions – it will be a great night to get some early Christmas shopping done.” The shopping night will be from 6pm to 9pm. Tickets, available from Harvey Norman on the night, are $20 a person and children can attend free of charge.
