Plan for Mitre
Residents of the Horsham Rural City town of Mitre celebrated the launch of their new community plan at a summer season dinner.
Community leaders have also presented the plan, which identifies and prioritises a range of ideas and projects the community believes would benefit the district, to council.
Council’s community services director Kevin O’brien said the development, launch and presentation of the plan to the council were important steps for the Mitre community.
“Through developing this plan, the community has identified a number of priorities for the future growth and prosperity of the town,” he said.
“The community should be proud of this plan. They have worked together to identify their priorities and will take the lead in delivery of many of the actions.
“Council looks forward to working with Mitre residents to action some of the opportunities identified in the plan as they drive its implementation.”
Some of the priorities identified include improvements to the town’s entrances, town beautification and a safe school bus pick-up and drop-off zone.
