All ability celebration
Hindmarsh Shire Council leaders have invited the community to celebrate International Day of People with Disabilities on December 1.
Mayor Ron Ismay said the council would host an event that focused on and empowered people of all abilities.
“This year council will again be celebrating people of all abilities in our community with a day full of dancing, performing, fun and games,” he said. “Celebrations will be at the soundshell at Jaypex Park in Nhill. “This event is important for our community and works towards the celebration, inclusion and awareness of people with all abilities.
“This is the third year council has hosted the event and we hope that lots of people can join us and make it the best celebration so far.”
Festivities will run from 10am to 2pm and include a talent show, dancing lesson, barbecue lunch, lake walk, games and painting. People who wish to attend must RSVP by Monday. People can email community development officer Michelle Farinha at mfar[email protected]marsh.vic.gov.au or call 5391 4444 to RSVP or for more information.
