Cel­e­brat­ing vol­un­teers

Hor­sham East Ro­tary Club will use Internatio­nal Vol­un­teers Day on Tues­day to cel­e­brate the club’s achieve­ments.

Pres­i­dent Steve Holmes said the club, along with other vol­un­teer or­gan­i­sa­tions in the Wimmera and Mallee, had much to cel­e­brate.

“Here are just a few of the rea­sons we are cel­e­brat­ing. This year Ro­tary Club of Hor­sham East along with War­rackn­abeal, Nhill and Hor­sham clubs have as­sisted West Wimmera Health Ser­vice with the sup­port of a district grant to pro­vide chil­dren with a tooth­brush, tooth­paste, timer and flash card to as­sist with pro­mot­ing the im­por­tance den­tal health,” he said.

“Our 2017 art fair raised $8000 for the pur­chase of an on­col­ogy chair for the new Wimmera Cancer Cen­tre.

“Our mem­bers have sup­ported many lo­cal events such as North­fest, Meals on Wheels, Chap­laincy Book Fair and Wimmera Ma­chin­ery Field Days.”
