Eatwell expansion boosts job numbers
A $962,000 expansion of Mallee regional health food manufacturer Australian Eatwell will create 10 new jobs.
Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Victoria Danielle Green toured the Donald company on Friday, announcing $231,000 for the project from the Future Industries Manufacturing Program.
“As a result of our Future Industries Manufacturing Program, Australian Eatwell’s production in Donald will double, creating 10 new jobs for locals in the process,” Ms Green said.
The expansion will also include installing a new tofu production line and transitioning six workers to higher-skilled roles.
From veggie burgers to soy cheese, Australian Eatwell has carved out a market for its vegetarian and vegan food, supplying leading independent and Australian retailers such as Coles.
The business has continued to expand in recent years, acquiring leading health food brand Simply Better Foods in 2009, and launching the world’s first chickpea tofu in October 2016.
