Hor­sham singers launch pro­gram

Sing Aus­tralia Hor­sham choir mem­bers are look­ing forward to con­nect­ing with other singers at a re­gional gathering this month.

Mem­ber Frances Macdonald said the gathering would al­low Sing Aus­tralia groups from dif­fer­ent ar­eas to en­joy an af­ter­noon of sing­ing, net­work­ing and af­ter­noon tea.

“Prac­tice ses­sions for the month will fea­ture songs ap­pro­pri­ate to An­zac Day,” she said.

“As well, we will be pay­ing trib­ute in song to Neil Di­a­mond and Paul Si­mon, who have re­cently an­nounced their re­tire­ment from tour­ing.”

Sing Aus­tralia Hor­sham mem­bers kicked off 2018 on Aus­tralia Day, pre­sent­ing a pro­gram of Aus­tralian-themed songs, fin­ish­ing with ‘What a Won­der­ful World’.

Last month, the choir sang about the many facets of love, from ‘All My Lov­ing’ to ‘The Car­ni­val is Over’, at Hor­sham Li­brary for Valen­tine’s Day.

Sing Aus­tralia Hor­sham prac­tice ses­sions are open to the pub­lic.

They are on Mon­day nights, ex­cept pub­lic hol­i­days, in St An­drew’s Unit­ing Church meet­ing room in Pynsent Street, from 7.30pm. Sup­per and song­books are avail­able.
