Horsham singers launch program
Sing Australia Horsham choir members are looking forward to connecting with other singers at a regional gathering this month.
Member Frances Macdonald said the gathering would allow Sing Australia groups from different areas to enjoy an afternoon of singing, networking and afternoon tea.
“Practice sessions for the month will feature songs appropriate to Anzac Day,” she said.
“As well, we will be paying tribute in song to Neil Diamond and Paul Simon, who have recently announced their retirement from touring.”
Sing Australia Horsham members kicked off 2018 on Australia Day, presenting a program of Australian-themed songs, finishing with ‘What a Wonderful World’.
Last month, the choir sang about the many facets of love, from ‘All My Loving’ to ‘The Carnival is Over’, at Horsham Library for Valentine’s Day.
Sing Australia Horsham practice sessions are open to the public.
They are on Monday nights, except public holidays, in St Andrew’s Uniting Church meeting room in Pynsent Street, from 7.30pm. Supper and songbooks are available. People can call Dot on 0427 003 660 or Allan on 0409 548 299 for more details, or visit website www.singaustralia.com.au for information about Sing Australia.
