Health services in the region’s north and southeast are on the hunt for new chief executives.

East Grampians Health Service leader Nick Bush will join Echuca Regional Health as its chief executive from July 16 and Rural Northwest Health has parted ways with chief executive Janet Feeny.

Mr Bush, originally from Dimboola, has been with East Grampians Health Service since 2010 and will finish up his role in Ararat on June 28.

East Grampians Health Service board president Matthew Wood announced Mr Bush’s resignation and thanked him for his leadership in the health service and wider community.

“Nick is an excellent leader who has achieved great results for East Grampians Health Service in finance, clinical governance and workforce development,” he said. “His motivation to improve the organisation’s performance is acknowledged and we appreciate his dedication and commitment to deliver improved health services and outcomes for our community.

“We thank Nick for his enormous contribution to the organisation and wish him well as he takes the next step in his career.”

During his time leading East Grampians Health Service, the organisation won recognition as a high achiever in the health sector, winning Victorian Premier’s Health Service of the Year awards in 2015 and 2016 in a medium health-service category.

The service was also a finalist in 2017.

Mr Bush thanked people who had supported him throughout his tenure with the health service.

“I thank the board for the opportunity to lead such a wonderful organisation with highly skilled and very dedicated staff, visiting medical officers, auxiliaries and volunteers,” he said.

“I’ll truly miss the friendships I’ve made.

“I’m proud to leave East Grampians Health Service in a very stable position with a strong board, committed medical workforce, executive management and staff.

“After seven years at East Grampians Health Service I’m excited to manage the complexities of a larger health service at Echuca.”

Mr Bush’s wife Celine and children Genevieve, Edmund and Philippa will join him later in the year.

Ms Feeny, who replaced Catherine Morley, leaves Rural Northwest Health after starting her role in January. great
