St Arnaud colour run a winning formula
More than 200 participants took to the track for the first St Arnaud Colouring Festival.
Participants ran, jogged or walked around St Arnaud’s Lord Nelson Park, with the option to complete a two or four-kilometre track in a colour-filled celebration of fun, family, fitness and friends.
This year’s event built on the success of the 2017 Stawell Colour Festival, attracting more participants in its second incarnation.
The festival was part of Northern Grampians Shire Council’s Youth Week activities and was funded by a State Government grant.
Northern Grampians mayor Tony Driscoll hailed the event a success.
“It was fantastic to see so many people, representing so many different sectors of our community, come together in St Arnaud to not only celebrate the young people of our region, but to bring us all closer together and forge new connec- tions,” he said. “You only need to look at the smiles on the faces of every single participant to see that this event has been a real success.
“Days like this add to our growing reputation as the events capital of the Grampians, and I’d like to thank all the volunteers who have given their time to help bring this event to life, particularly those from the St Arnaud Netball Club, one of council’s partners for this event.”
