Big W squad prepares
A Wimmera Football League representative squad will tonight start its build-up for Victorian Community Championships.
Clubs have nominated players for initial squad selection, guaranteeing all involved will be willing participants for a May 19 clash at Horsham City Oval.
Wimmera is playing Bellarine league with an aim to continue a climb up annual league rankings.
Wimmera league is 17th in the 32-league interleague rankings across country and metropolitan football and Bellarine 16th.
Training starts under coach Shayne Breuer tonight and selectors will prune the squad of 49 back in the next couple of weeks.
The squad also includes 12 interleague development players.
Horsham District, ranked 28th, is also involved in the May 19 championships and will take on Ellinbank and District at Ballarat City Oval.
