Hor­sham trainer Paul Preusker con­tin­ues to en­joy a great sea­son thus far, train­ing another win­ner on his home track on Sat­ur­day.

The Preusker yard had I Am Some­one, $2 favourite, lin­ing up in the 1200-me­tre MIXX FM maiden plate with De­clan Bates tak­ing the ride.

I Am Some­one bounced out of the gates, and sat right on the early leader’s girth. The Onemorenom­ore geld­ing demon­strated a high curs­ing speed, putting some pace into the race. I Am Some­one took the lead from the tir­ing Amus­ing Mag­nus 600 me­tres out. In the straight I Am Some­one kicked away for an easy three-length win. Cen­te­nary takes me­mo­rial Mt Gam­bier-trained Cen­te­nary Shot took out the Dallas Rin­toule Me­mo­rial Hand­i­cap, 0-58, for his trainer Peter Har­dacre.

Also rid­den by De­clan Bates, Cen­te­nary Shot speared across from the bar­ri­ers and found the box seat. The Sol­dier’s Tale fiveyear-old con­tin­ued to get a nice run, and once bal­anced, Bates an­gled Cen­te­nary Shot into clear gal­lop­ing room, fin­ish­ing strongly.

Over the con­clud­ing stages, Cen­te­nary Shot toughed his way to a three-quar­ter-length win.
