An annual Grampians tourism conference in Hamilton next month will focus on innovation in marketing.

The Grampians Tourism Industry Conference, designed to bring the best minds in the tourism industry together to help regional tourism operators meet demands of changing visitor expectatio­ns, will be at Hamilton Exhibition Centre on June 6.

Guest speakers will share their expertise regarding visitor economy and innovation in marketing.

Grampians Tourism chief executive Marc Sleeman said the organisati­on was excited to secure ‘so many’ expert speakers and peak industry leaders.

“Each speaker at this year’s conference is a leader in their field, providing local tourism operators the chance to learn from the best in the business,” he said.

“Tourism is vital to the regional economy and we have so many wonderful experience­s to offer tourists in our great region.

“By working together with our industry, and having opportunit­ies like this to learn together, it’s a win-win.”

Grampians Tourism is the peak body for tourism for the Grampians region.

It encompasse­s and has support from Ararat, Horsham, Northern Grampians and Southern Grampians municipali­ties.

Its primary purpose is to provide a co-ordinated approach to marketing, product developmen­t, infrastruc­ture investment and industry developmen­t for the area, based

in and around Grampians National Park.

Conference guest speakers will include Visit Victoria chief executive Peter Bingeman, Parks Victoria chief executive Matthew Jackson, Victorian Tourism Industry Council chief executive Felicia Mariani and industry marketing leader The Digital Picnic and Alpaca Travel.

The conference will be from 10am to 4.45pm. Tickets are $129 or $50 for students and volunteers.

The fee includes the conference program, lunch and afternoon tea.
