Table-top games in A Grade

-

Wimmera Netball Association heavyweights will go toe to toe in defining A Grade encounters this weekend.

Minyip-murtoa sits on top of the ladder by percentage from Ararat and takes on a Horsham side suddenly four points off the pace in fourth position.

Warrack Eagles, meanwhile, fresh from a confidence-boosting win against the Demons, now confront unbeaten Ararat in Ararat.

Horsham stumbled badly in a test against Warrack Eagles before an association bye last week and will be keen to return to the winners list.

The Demons found themselves 10 goals off the pace last outing and are unlikely to find any respite against the Burras.

Minyip-murtoa’s last result was a solid win over Nhill.

Ararat has had a magical start to the season and is playing with renewed confidence but it too will find the Eagles hard to crack.

Reigning premiers Horsham Saints, who scored an 11-goal win against Stawell before the break and sit fifth on the ladder, meet sixth-placed Nhill in what looms as an intriguing battle at Nhill’s Davis Park.

Three sides have yet to win a game, but it will be either seventh-placed Dimboola or eighthplaced Stawell that finally gets to cheer at the final whistle at Stawell’s Central Park.

Southern Mallee Giants, which still has plenty of tongues wagging after lofty former national player Janelle Lawson lined up for the Mallee combine against Ararat, has a bye.
