‘Soundbath’ opportunity

-

Melbourne-based Carmen Warrington will present a ‘soundbath’ music meditation experience in Horsham on Sunday.

Ms Warrington said soundbaths were a soothing experience, where you ‘sit or lie down comfortably and let the music carry you into a beautiful state of peace’.

“Your body becomes relaxed, your mind-chatter slows down and you feel nurtured,” she said.

“After a soundbath, people tell me it’s the most peaceful they have ever felt.”

Ms Warrington said soundbaths had become popular throughout Australia during the past decade because they helped people achieve deep relaxation and an increased sense of wellbeing.

“We all know that stress is held in the body and taking a regular bath in your bathtub is a great way to relax tired muscles,” she said.

“But stress is also held in the mind, the heart and the soul, and what I love about a soundbath is that it can relax you on all those levels.”

Ms Warrington said there were a growing number of soundbath presenters in Australia, each bringing their own unique blend of instruments and playing styles.

Ms Warrington’s instruments include her Alchemy crystal singing bowls, Japanese and Tibetan singing bowls, Chinese gongs and chimes and her speaking and singing voice.

“I’ve been doing soundbaths for more than 15 years, and this year I’ve started singing as part of the session,” she said.

“The response has been wonderful – people feel really nurtured, they tell me it’s like I’m singing a lullaby to their soul.”

Ms Warrington will present the event in the Horsham Italian Club rooms at 3pm in conjunction with Yoga Horsham.

“Please bring everything you need to be comfortable, such as yoga mats, airbeds, cushions, rugs, shawls and your bottle of water. Chairs will be available for those who do not wish to lie down,” she said.

The session costs $27 and tickets are available online at eventbrite.com.
