Consol in emotional valley win
Horsham trainer Paul Preusker has continued his stellar season, notching up another city winner.
The Preusker yard had its stable star Magic Consol lining up in the Travis Harrison Cup over 1600 metres at Moonee Valley, with Craig Williams riding.
The son of Consolidator began to roll into the race at the 500-metre mark. The eight-year-old veteran raced away for a seven-length victory. It was an emotional win for Williams, because he was a cousin and close friend of Travis Harrison, who was tragically killed 22 years ago.
Yendall in listed win
Horsham’s Dean Yendall has always adopted the ‘have saddle will travel’ attitude.
Last weekend Yendall rode Tradesman in the 2150-metre Ipswich Cup cup for Darren Weir. The six-year-old son of Trade Fair dashed up quickly in the straight and proved too good for First Crush, winning by a slender margin.
Yendall returned to Victoria to take up a book of rides at Bendigo the following day. Again teaming up with Weir, Yendall rode a double aboard Zaide and Chiosborder in a 2400-metre maiden and a benchmark-64 1100-metre handicap.
