Stawell orchid show

Stawell Orchid Society members will present their annual spring show in Stawell Entertainment Centre this weekend.

This year the show will have ‘favourite poem’ as its theme.

Orchid enthusiasts will exhibit plants of different genera, including exotic hothouse varieties, large and small cymbidiums and Australian native orchids in large displays, each one featuring a different interpretation of the theme.

The show will open to the public on Friday from 9am to 4pm, and 10am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday.

There will be plants for sale as well as light refreshments and club members will be on hand to give advice on orchid-growing requirements.

There will also be potting demonstrations at 2pm Saturday and Sunday.

The orchid club is urging the public to make the most of ‘a blaze of colour’ and attend the show.
