Local sports grant applications submitted
Horsham Rural City Council has submitted four projects to the Federal Government’s Community Sport Infrastructure Grant 3rogram. The new funding scheme was announced in August and will be delivered by the Australian Sports Commission. The grants support greater community participation in sport and physical activity and are designed to offer safer and more inclusive community sporting hubs. Director Community Wellbeing Kevin O’brien said, given the tight time frames, Council had prioritised projects that were well advanced in the planning and consul tation stages. “Following the release of the new funding guidelines, Officers have assessed any current projects that are application ready and suitable for the new funding program,” Mr O’brien said. Horsham Aquatic Centre Stage 2 Accessibility project $646,313 Grant request $323,000, Council contribution $323,313.
Quantong Netball Facilities $248,000 Grant request $165,000, Council contribution $83,000.
Laharum Community Facility $700,000 Grant request $500,000, Laharum Sports Inc. $200,000.
Pimpinio Second Netball Court $228,160 Grant request $125,000, Council contribution $35,320, Club contribution $67,840.
