A ‘wheelie’ fun activity

Horsham Ss Michaels and John’s Primary School students enjoyed their first ‘Wheelie Wednesday’ last week.

Acting principal Michael Rowe said students were encouraged to bring a ‘wheelie’ of choice to school – whether it be a bicycle, scooter, skateboard or rollerskates – to use at recess and lunch time.

He said Wheelie Wednesday was part of a ‘Welcome Back Week’ activity to provide students with an enjoyable and welcoming start to term four.

“We were thrilled with the outcome of the activity,” he said.

“We counted 85 bicycles and 95 of other types of wheelies that were brought to school.”

Mr Rowe said due to the success of the activity, Wheelie Wednesday was likely to become a regular event on the school’s calendar.
