Laharum community day

-

New arrivals to Wartook and Laharum regions are invited to a community day at Laharum Hall on Sunday.

Organiser Jessica Bettess said the event would help bring new residents of the area together.

“Recently we have had quite a few new people moving to the area and we were being contacted both through the Wartook and Laharum Community Facebook page and through Landcare memberships asking about groups, information and activities,” she said. “Laharum Landcare and Laharum CFA both had events they wanted to run and decided to come together and host a community day to encompass the things in our community.

“We have included activities that are run regularly in our community and other groups such as Friends of Grampians Gariwerd and Lions Club.”

The day will run from 9am to 1.30pm, with a range of stalls and activities planned.

There will be a one-hour yoga class at 9am, a veggie swap and morning tea at 10am, a CFA information session at 10.30am and produce stalls and lunch from 11.30am.

CFA members will stick around in the afternoon for a demonstration of Laharum’s new tanker and children can be honourary junior firefighters for the day.

More information is available from Ms Bettess by calling 0421 187 220.
