Cheney, Norton to finish off year
Horsham Country Music Association will finish the year with Stephen Cheney and Robyn Norton performing at Horsham RSL.
They will be at the RSL for a dinner-show on November 22 and a morning melodies performance the next day.
Association chairman Colin Morrell said Cheney was an ideal artist to conclude what had been a successful year.
“Cheney is a regular at Mildura, Tamworth and other festivals where he is renowned for his tributes to John Denver,” he said.
Cheney will have support from Norton, from Serviceton, returning after a successful debut last year.
Association secretary and Horsham festival co-ordinator Lyall Wheaton echoed Mr Morrell’s comments about 2018.
“Dinner and shows and morning melodies at the RSL have been well attended,” he said.
“As a result of the successful 2018 Horsham Country Music Festival we were able to donate $16,000 to the Wimmera Cancer Centre and $8500 to a drought appeal.”
Mr Wheaton said plans for the final Horsham Country Music Festival from March 21 to 24 were progressing well.
“We have an excellent artist line-up headed by Laura Downing, Kiara Rodrigues, Sandie Dodd, Justin Standley, Don Costa, Brian Letton, Peter Coad and the Coad Sisters, while youngsters Lachie and Georgie Mcgennisken will be returning after their successful debut this year,” he said.
Mr Wheaton said tickets for the final dinner-show and morning melodies, at $35 and $15 respectively, were on sale at Horsham RSL.
