Opportunity to take to the sky

-

Prospective pilots and aspiring aviators are invited to Horsham Flying Club on Saturday to give gliding a go.

President Michael Sudholz said the club was trying to recruit new members and anyone interested in taking up gliding was welcome.

He said there was a particular emphasis on getting more female pilots to join the club.

“We’re trying to welcome some new members to the club and we’re particularly hoping to get some female pilots because we do not have too many women at the club,” he said.

“There’s been a push in the sport of gliding to get more women involved and we want to support that. If there is anybody who has thought about flying before, we’d encourage you to come down because it’s not hard to learn and we have a modern fleet of aircraft to learn in.”

Mr Sudholz said anyone who attended could take a ride in a glider, with a small fee to cover insurance.

The come and try day will start at Horsham Flying Club at 10am and finish about 5pm.

Anyone wanting more information can call Mr Sudholz on 0417 585 747 or Selwyn Ellis on 0427 824 925.
