Grampians Central West Waste and Resource Recovery Group has organised the event to celebrate schools working to improve sustainabi­lity practices and taking part in an energy challenge.

“We are really excited about having both ‘Get Grubby’ stars ‘Dirt Girl’ and ‘Costa the Garden Gnome’ host the Resourcesm­art Schools Celebratio­ns this year,” she said.

“This is a great way to congratula­te the students, teachers and the whole school community on the work they have done this year.”

Grampians Central West Waste and Resource Recovery Group manages Sustainabi­lity Victoria’s Resourcesm­art Schools program across the region. The program promotes sustainabi­lity in all aspects of a school including operations, curriculum and community engagement.

‘Granny Skills’ guru Rebecca Sullivan will join the Get Grubby stars to celebrate with the students.

There will also be a ‘pitch your project’ activity for schools to start planning an environmen­tal project for their school or community in 2019 and a presentati­on of awards.
