Grampians Cen­tral West Waste and Re­source Re­cov­ery Group has or­gan­ised the event to cel­e­brate schools work­ing to im­prove sus­tain­abil­ity prac­tices and tak­ing part in an en­ergy chal­lenge.

“We are re­ally ex­cited about hav­ing both ‘Get Grubby’ stars ‘Dirt Girl’ and ‘Costa the Gar­den Gnome’ host the Re­sources­mart Schools Cel­e­bra­tions this year,” she said.

“This is a great way to con­grat­u­late the stu­dents, teach­ers and the whole school com­mu­nity on the work they have done this year.”

Grampians Cen­tral West Waste and Re­source Re­cov­ery Group man­ages Sus­tain­abil­ity Vic­to­ria’s Re­sources­mart Schools pro­gram across the re­gion. The pro­gram pro­motes sus­tain­abil­ity in all as­pects of a school in­clud­ing op­er­a­tions, cur­ricu­lum and com­mu­nity en­gage­ment.

‘Granny Skills’ guru Rebecca Sul­li­van will join the Get Grubby stars to cel­e­brate with the stu­dents.

There will also be a ‘pitch your pro­ject’ ac­tiv­ity for schools to start plan­ning an en­vi­ron­men­tal pro­ject for their school or com­mu­nity in 2019 and a pre­sen­ta­tion of awards.
