Guests dip into wallets for Blue Ribbon night
ABlue Ribbon Foundation dinner in Horsham raised about $4000 for Wimmera Health Care Group.
The black-tie event at Coughlin Park Community Centre, organised by the foundation’s Horsham branch in recognition of the contribution and sacrifice of Victorian police officers, attracted 75 guests.
Victorian Police Assistant Commissioner Ross Guenther was guest speaker at the dinner.
Foundation secretary Kelly Schilling said the night was an outstanding success, bringing people from Horsham district together for a night of finery, fun and reflection.
“Everything about the night was fantastic and we look forward to organising similar events in the future,” she said.
“Assistant Commissioner Guenther provided fantastic insight into the police force, particularly the role police played in combatting terrorism.
“His presentation was absorbing and generated considerable interest from guests.”
Miss Schilling said the night, apart from helping raise money and recognising the contribution of police, celebrated fine dining available in the Wimmera.
Patrons sat down to a four-course meal presented by chef Chris Seers, with Horsham district winery Norton Estate providing wine to match each dish.
The foundation will now concentrate on its next events including a Crime Night in July and a lead-in to Spirit of Sport promotion involving junior netballers and footballers in the region.
