Martin on a roll in Paris
Horsham teenage tenpin bowling sensation Sophie Martin was in the running late yesterday to play off for an international medal.
The 16-year-old, competing at 2019 World Junior Bowling Championships in Paris, France, bowled her way into third position of a girls’ singles Squad A section.
She was awaiting results of a Squad B section to find out whether she had qualified for semi-finals.
After six qualifying games and in a field of 24 international competitors she finished with 1316 points to fall behind section winner Victoria Kashirskaya from Russia, 1360, and Isabel Allen of England, 1332.
She is in the national junior team alongside Amy Shoesmith, Cameron Stein and Nixon Chan.
