Highway work

Municipal leaders have welcomed the recommencement of work on a Western Highway dual-carriageway project.

Northern Grampians mayor Kevin Erwin said the project would ultimately have a positive impact on the regional community.

“It’s pleasing to see the works recommence after a lengthy delay,” he said.

“We’ve seen the safety benefits and efficiencies from the already duplicated section of the Western Highway, and it’s pleasing to see that the Buangor to Ararat section will be completed in the next couple of years.”
