Redfin the catch of the day

Stawell Angling Club members had another successful outing at Lake Fyans at the weekend with redfin up to 40 centimetres being taken.

Darren Smith took out top spot with seven redfin for an aggregate of 244.5cm, from Stephen Fenwick with five fish at 198cm.

Graeme Nuske, also with five fish at 184cm, claimed third. No juniors were successful.

Fenwick also took out the longest fish award with a 47cm rainbow trout.

The next club outing is again at Fyans from 7am Saturday, May 18 until 11am Sunday, May 19, with final measure at the clubhouse at 11:15am.

Club members celebrated a successful Easter fishing competition on the Murray River at Robinvale.

Chris Bird, with seven yellowbelly at an aggregate lenghth of 280.5 centimetres, took out top spot from Doug Collins, seven yellowbelly at 266.5cm.
