Club appeals

-

Horsham Football Club has requested an appeal for a suspension handed to Minyip-murtoa reserves player Nick Hudson, arguing a six-week ban from the AFL Wimmera-mallee tribunal last week was too lenient.

Hudson pleaded guilty to carelessly making contact with the head and jaw of Horsham player James Davidson, who was subsequently admitted to hospital and underwent corrective facial surgery, during a reserves match on June 1.

AFL Wimmera-mallee general manager Stephen Mcqueen confirmed Horsham had requested to appeal the sentence.

Paperwork for an appeal needs to be finalised today, with AFL Victoria to review the case and determine whether an appeal will go ahead.
