AFL squad selection

Horsham coach Deek Roberts and Horsham Saints’ Sam Jasper have made an initial 60-man AFL Victoria Country senior representative squad.

The players are the Wimmera’s sole representatives.

Four training sessions will help Victoria Country selectors whittle the squad down to a team of 22 to play a Victorian Amateur Football Association representative side at Carlton North on July 13.

Former AFL player and coach Danny Frawley and assistants Mark Sandilands and Rob Condy will coach Victoria Country.

• Ben Hobbs of Horsham and Horsham Saint Sam Breuer will also don the white and blue of Victoria Country after being picked in the final team for the AFL Under-16 Championships.

Victoria Country will play games against Victoria Metro in Geelong on Sunday, Western Australia on the Gold Coast on July 8 and South Australia in Brisbane on July 12.
