Money for clubs

Wim­mera sports clubs can now ap­ply for a share of $500,000 fund­ing to get more Vic­to­ri­ans ac­tive and play­ing sport.

The lat­est round of Vichealth’s Ac­tive Club Grants pro­vides up to $3000 to com­mu­nity sport clubs to cre­ate more op­por­tu­ni­ties for women and girls to play sport, in­clud­ing so­cial or mod­i­fied sport op­tions.

State Mem­ber for Lowan Emma Kealy en­cour­aged clubs to help cre­ate more op­por­tu­ni­ties for women and girls to be­come ac­tive and im­prove their health.

“This is about mak­ing grass­roots sports more ac­ces­si­ble so every­one can get in­volved in the sports they love,” she said.

Clubs can ap­ply for the fund­ing grants through the Vichealth web­site fund­ing/ac­tive-club-grants be­fore round one closes at 4pm on Fri­day, Au­gust 30.
