Ju­nior Jam­boree

Nine play­ers and two coaches from the Wim­mera-grampians re­gion will take part in one of Basketball Vic­to­ria Coun­try’s big­gest ju­nior tour­na­ments start­ing on Satur­day.

The an­nual Jam­boree brings to­gether 240 of the best un­der-12 play­ers from re­gional and ru­ral parts of Vic­to­ria for a four-day camp in Echuca.

The play­ers were se­lected from more than 1000 who at­tended Basketball Vic­to­ria un­der-12 skills days through­out the state.

Play­ers will be split into 12 boys and 12 girls teams, which will com­pete against each other dur­ing the camp.

Eight play­ers from Hor­sham Am­a­teur Basketball As­so­ci­a­tion and one player from Ararat Basketball As­so­ci­a­tion were picked for the camp.

The Hor­sham play­ers are Mad­di­son Bethune, Milla Carter, Gemma Frei­jah, Cara Tip­pet, Micah Liv­ing­stone, Eli­jah Mcken­zie, Levi Mun­yard and Ethan Wor­thy. Sa­muel Wong will rep­re­sent the Ararat as­so­ci­a­tion.

Cas­san­dra Hass­ket and Amanda Mun­yard from Hor­sham Am­a­teur Basketball As­so­ci­a­tion will also have a chance to de­velop their coach­ing skills as coaches of two of the teams.
