Week-long cel­e­bra­tions for chil­dren

The State Gov­ern­ment has an­nounced fund­ing for re­gional events as part of Chil­dren’s Week cel­e­bra­tions.

La­bor Mem­ber for Western Vic­to­ria Jaala Pul­ford said western Vic­to­rian or­gan­i­sa­tions were among 118 statewide re­cip­i­ents.

Chil­dren’s Week, from Oc­to­ber 19 to 27, is a week-long na­tional cel­e­bra­tion recog­nise the tal­ents, skills, achieve­ments and rights of chil­dren.

Groups be­ing funded in­clude: $700, West Wim­mera Shire Coun­cil for yoga, mu­sic and move­ment ses­sions for fam­i­lies in Eden­hope; $700, Yar­ri­ambi­ack Shire Coun­cil for games and fun in the park; $700, Hind­marsh Shire Coun­cil for a healthy smoothie work­shop in Nhill; $700, Horsham Ru­ral City for a dance and move­ment work­shop; $700, North­ern Grampians Shire Coun­cil for healthy and ac­tive ac­tiv­i­ties in St Ar­naud; $700, Ararat Gallery TAMA for health, safety and hap­pi­ness work­shops through tex­tile-based col­lage; $1000, Ararat Show So­ci­ety to present Ka­zoos mu­si­cal com­edy per­for­mance at Ararat Show; $1000, Don­ald Learn­ing Group for a nu­tri­tion pic­nic; $1000, Stawell Re­gional Health for fun games and ac­tiv­i­ties in Cato Gar­dens; $1000, East Wim­mera Health Ser­vice for a nu­tri­tion pic­nic in Charl­ton.
