Plans for more wine in the vines

-

Wimmera Health Care Group Friends of the Foundation are preparing to host another Wines in the Vines fun and fundraising event at Norton Estate Winery at Lower Norton southwest of Horsham.

The friends group is promoting the November 10 event, with a setting under umbrellas among grape vines, as a ‘lazy Sunday afternoon’.

Limited tickets for the popular event are on sale from Horsham Plaza management office.

Nestled halfway between the Grampians and Mount Arapiles, Norton Estate produces some of Australia’s finest award-winning boutique wines.

The winery’s frost-free elevation and climate, combined with low-yielding vines, handpicked fruit and traditional-making practices, provide for true boutique wines of the highest quality and style.

Norton Estate’s Arapiles Run Shiraz, first released in 2006 and sharing time in national wine authority James Halliday’s ‘top 100 wines of Australia’, is the winery’s flagship product.

Other products from the winery, including a 2016 and 2017 Wendy’s Block Shiraz, have also rated among some of the best wines in the country. Friends of the Foundation coordinator Allison Roberts encouraged businesses as well as individuals to buy tickets to Wines in the Vines.

“With our event being in the middle of November we expect some businesses might buy staff tickets to use the event as a Christmas breakup,” she said.

Mrs Roberts said tickets were $30 and included the first glass of wine and sharing platters.

She added that the event would include live music and an exclusive wine auction, with limited bus tickets also available.

Friends of the Foundation is a fundraising arm of the Wimmera Health Care Group Foundation.
