Third time lucky for fair

-

Horsham College Chaplaincy Book Fair will finally get underway on Friday after confirmation of Victoria coming out of a COVID-19 lockdown.

Organisers have had to twice postpone the event, initially in May and then earlier this month, because of the pandemic.

Committee chair Yolande Grosser confirmed the fair, which raises money to support Horsham College chaplaincy and student-wellbeing services, would feature about 10,000 books for $1 each and children’s books and magazines for 50 cents.

She said the fair would again offer bargains, similar to other years, and operate under COVID-19 rules.

“We have it all set up ready to roll in Maroske Hall in Dimboola Road with books sitting there for customers to have a browse,” she said.

“It’s an event that encourages reading, gets books to people who need them and raises money for chaplaincy.”

The book fair is from noon on Friday and ends at noon, Saturday.
