Revisiting a year of adversity

-

A virtual community meeting this month will revisit and celebrate the achievements of the Wimmera Health Care Group team in its most difficult year.

Wimmera Health Care Group’s board of directors is inviting all community and team members to link into the open event on October 28.

Board chair Marie Aitken said it was an understatement to declare there had never been another financial year like 2020-2021.

“We learned a lot about our health service and its community during that time and what we are most impressed with, is the absolute resilience shown by the team at WHCG,” she said.

“It would be safe to say we have never been more closely scrutinised and we haven’t always made the right choices,” she said.

“But I couldn’t be prouder of the team members at every level and every department because it has been tough and they are still finding innovative ways to do things better and safer while maintaining a smile and a sense of humour.

“Anyone who links into the community meeting will learn more about what was achieved and how our team went about it.”

Ms Aitken said the community meeting was a chance to learn more about the operations of the health service for the financial year.

“This meeting will provide important information, including a financial report but without the formalities of an annual general meeting,” she said.

“There will be a video presentation of the key achievements for 2020-21 and that will be much more interesting than watching speeches.

“By keeping the meeting informal we will be able to answer questions as well.”

Ms Aitken said people could book into the open community meeting by emailing their interest to ceo@whcg.org.au.
