Dimboola museum to open next year

-

A plan to open a music museum in Dimboola has been put on hold until next year.

Long-time Wimmera musician Ian Lehmann said he hoped to open the museum in November, but ongoing border restrictions meant bands and musicians were not able to commit to the date.

“The band people themselves are looking more towards next March,” he said.

“We will probably wait until then for the opening.

“There is a book launch perhaps in the middle of November, we will look at a soft opening for that, but to get bands and musicians from South Australia and other areas we’ll more likely wait until next year.”

The museum documents the history of brass bands in the Wimmera including uniforms, records, instruments and memorabilia, as well as a display of pedal organs.
