Roadworks at Vectis

The first of four major road-maintenance projects along the Wimmera Highway is underway at Vectis, west of Horsham.

Crews have started work on rebuilding a three-kilometre section of the highway in a project aimed at improving journeys for more than 2000 drivers daily.

Work on sections of the highway at Jung, Dooen and Rupanyup will follow in the coming months, as warmer weather provides more suitable road-building conditions.

Labor Member for Western Victoria Jaala Pulford said the works program would ensure travellers on the highway, one of western Victoria’s busiest freight routes, would have a safer, more robust and smoother connection.
