Mini makers kits

-

Ararat Gallery TAMA is providing young artists an opportunity to continue their artistic endeavours at home with new mini makers kits.

The gallery has popular monthly Mini Makers Art Club sessions, giving children a chance to create craft in a gallery environment.

Gallery staff, in adapting to COVID-SAFE restrictions, found a new way for junior creators to continue their sessions at home, with the free take-home activity kits.

Ararat mayor Jo Armstrong emphasised the importance of exposing young children to art experiences that were both fun and creative.

“While the mini makers program usually consists of craft activities in the gallery, our staff chose a different route to accommodate COVIDSAFE guidelines,” she said.

“The take-home kits are a great way for young artists to continue developing creative expression and fine motor skills within the home.

“This month’s take-away kit is centred on ducks and nature – all you need is a glue stick and a pair of scissors.

“We look forward to welcoming families back to the gallery for regular workshops in December.”

Cr Armstrong said the activity packs were available to collect from gallery reception throughout November.
