Squatting against cancer

- – Nick Ridley

Wade’s Horsham staff will complete a 55-a-day squat challenge this month in the hope of raising money for breast-cancer awareness.

Wade’s Horsham general manager Michelle Khan said six staff members were taking part in the challenge and hoped to raise $3000 for National Breast Cancer Foundation.

“We are currently at $1500, which is encouraging because we have only just started,” she said.

The 55 Squat Challenge recognises that 55 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer each day, and a further nine lose their lives.

People take on the challenge to ‘raise vital funds for world-class breast cancer treatment’ and ‘make a difference to the lives of those 55 Australians impacted by the disease’.

Mrs Khan said the Wade’s team was going to share the challenge on social media for some extra encouragement and donations.

“We are going to try to put a few things on Facebook a couple of times a week and we might do some live-streams,” she said.

Mrs Khan said people could donated online at fundraise.nbcf. org.au/fundraisers/wadeshorsham.
