Disaster in Europe
The conflict in Ukraine has caught many of us by surprise and we feel deeply for anyone caught up in this international disaster.
The reality is, with the world closely connected, it affects us all and we should all follow developments closely.
War tends to galvanise why national security is so important – not just in ensuring we are equipped to physically meet any aggressor – but in generating self-sufficiency to buffer us, as much as possible, from the impact of international economic fall-out.
This war, perhaps similar in some ways to the COVID-19 pandemic, provides us with good reason to up the ante in becoming as self-sufficient and as ‘circular’ as possible in food, energy and asset production.
