HISTORIC PROJECTIONS ON SHOW
Historic images of Horsham’s main buildings will be projected in Firebrace Street this week as part of a national celebration of regional Australia’s main streets.
Main Streets of Australia Week started Monday and aims to highlight the social and economic value main streets and city centres bring to local communities.
HRCC is helping the Wimmera to join in the festivities by projecting photos of the city from the 19th and early 20th centuries onto the Terry White Chemmart building at 58 Firebrace Street.
The projections will run from dusk until 10pm nightly until Sunday. Not-for-profit organisation Mainstreet Australia is behind the inaugural campaign to support and preserve main streets. Mayor Robyn Gulline said it was a chance to showcase the historic value of central Horsham.
“This is a terrific way to celebrate the heritage of our beautiful shopping precinct and show support for our local businesses who have certainly done it tough the last few years,” Cr Gulline said.
