Horsham ‘very impressive’
Horsham’s ‘Tidy Town’ credentals went under the microscope yesterday.
National Keep Australia Beautiful judge Gail Langley said Horsham was ‘very impressive’ during her visit, ahead of Australian Sustainable Community and Tidy Town 2022 awards.
Ms Langley said what she had seen submitted by the city for the awards was of a high standard.
“The nine categories entered for the national awards are of a really high standard and so far, everything I have seen is very appropriate and it is very impressive,” she said.
“The volunteers here are in multitudes and they’re very keen and very promoting of what they have.
“What really brings a community together is the people and there’s certainly so many groups involved here, which is great to see.
“Horsham does the awards very well and to have such a long-standing committee who are obviously very experienced is a huge bonus.”
As the overall winner of the Keep Victoria Beautiful 2021 Sustainable Communities Tidy Town awards, Horsham qualified for the Keep Australia Beautiful National Sustainable Communities awards in 2022.
Horsham has submitted entries in nine categories for the 2022 national awards and the winners will be announced in July.
