Outdoor spaces for students

-

Horsham’s St Brigid’s College has officially opened its new outdoor area, which includes places for sport and learning.

College principal Gerard Raven said the space concluded a series of refurbishments that started with a new science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics – STEAM – building.

“This area concludes our $7.5-million refurbishment, which began with the STEAM building and finished with the new outdoor learning area including basketball courts,” he said.

“It is all about the journey, not the destination, so therefore we are excited to be able to do the next refurbishment, which will start in the next 12 to 18 months.

“The next refurbishment will involve a new wing with new toilets and new learning areas.

“We’re very happy with the outcome of this space and the benefit it has on the students and their learning.”

The new outdoor area includes basketball courts, undercover down-ball courts, seating areas and gardens.

The school hosted an official opening of the area earlier this month.
