Burras, Rats in battle for fifth
Minyip-murtoa and Ararat are fighting for their place in the top five as they face off for the final time in the Wimmera Football Netball League A Grade home-and-away season.
Sitting in fifth and sixth positions, the teams will have a close and competitive game, with the winner one step closer to a finals berth.
When the Rats and Burras met in round seven, Ararat won by eight goals, with Racquel Scott putting on a strong performance in defence that she is likely to replicate this week.
Ararat is coming off round 15 looking strong, with a win over Southern Mallee Giants by three goals.
After a close first quarter, the Rats jumped ahead in the second for an eight-goal lead before half time.
Continuing to play hard and fast netball, Ararat secured the win with solid performances from Scott and Jessica Taylor.
Jodie Hayes and Emma Mill played well for Southern Mallee Giants.
Horsham outplayed Minyip-murtoa on Saturday in the first half to come away with an 11-goal win.
Despite a relatively even second half, the Demons were too far in front and the Burras could not shrink the margin.
In defence, Jedda Heard was key for the Demons, as was Imogen Worthy, who shot 25 goals.
Faith Mckenzie and Tamika Mentha worked well down the court for Minyip-murtoa.
While Warrack Eagles challenged the Stawell team, the Eagles could not hold onto its three-quarter-time lead.
Stawell defeated the Eagles by five goals in the end, with a seven-goal turnaround in the final quarter.
Molly Orr and Jemma Clarkson were instrumental throughout the midcourt for the Warriors.
Eilish Flagg worked hard in defence for the Eagles and Nicola Clyne shot 16 goals and worked the ball well down the court. In round 16, Horsham Saints and Dimboola will have a good tussle, with both teams coming off byes and playing strong netball this season.
As the Saints have suffered some recent injuries it will be a different look team to the one that took to the courts in round seven when the Roos beat the Saints by eight goals.
Both teams will have to bring their best to the game to come out on top.
Southern Mallee Giants will be hoping a win might boost them to second position on the ladder when they take on Stawell.
The Giants will be determined for a win after a close contest with the Rats and take it to the Warriors, who have had two recent wins and will be looking for an upset.
