What is cool sculpting?

Do you have other parts of your body that you want to shift fat from — without surgery? Cool sculpting could be your answer. Dr Glenn Murray, medical director at Absolute Cosmetic Medicine, says cool sculpting can be used for double chin removal, the arms, axillary and bra strap, upper and lower stomach, love handles and inner and outer thighs.

“Cool sculpting is a non-invasive body-sculpting treatment that uses a cooling technology to freeze fat cells to –10 degrees, which induces apoptosis (cell death),” he explains. “These dead cells are then eliminated naturally through the lymphatic system over a 12-week period.”

Dr Murray says one to two treatments per area are required. However, this may differ depending on the patient’s original size and desired goals.
