A celebrity baby, karaoke with a Bee­tle and a yo­delling child have all racked up mil­lions of Aus­tralian views on YouTube this year.

YouTube’s an­nual wrap of trend­ing clips also re­vealed Aussie mu­si­cians 5 Sec­onds Of Sum­mer, Iggy Aza­lea and Amy Shark were the coun­try’s most watched.

This year, view­ers swung to­wards in­ter­na­tional con­tent pro­duced by main­stream celebri­ties in­clud­ing Kylie Jen­ner and James Cor­den.

Jen­ner’s baby-re­veal video, To Our Daugh­ter, topped the list with more than 77 mil­lion views since Fe­bru­ary.

The 23-minute Paul McCart­ney Car­pool Karaoke clip has gar­nered al­most 36 mil­lion views since June, while a video of a young boy yo­delling in Wal­mart was watched al­most 60 mil­lion times this year.

YouTu­ber cou­ple David Do­brik and Liza Koshy’s ‘We broke up’ video was viewed more than 46 mil­lion times since June.

Aus­tralia also tended to­wards videos from the UK and US more than most other coun­tries.

Fewer lo­cal videos made the list this year:

Aus­tralian com­edy duo Su­per­wog’s video mock­ing high­way patrol po­lice of­fi­cers was the only Aussie video in the top 10.

More than 10 mil­lion Aus­tralian adults now spend an av­er­age of 24 hours ev­ery month con­sum­ing YouTube con­tent, ac­cord­ing to Nielsen Dig­i­tal Con­tent Rat­ings.

And nine in 10 views of Aus­tralian videos were from over­seas au­di­ences. Tam­sin Rose
