Wildlife carers’ licence

The West Australian - - LETTERS -

The McGowan Government’s proposal to introduce licensing of volunteer wildlife carers is outrageous, demonstrating how far removed from reality our politicians are.

I fail to comprehend the necessity to charge volunteer carers $250 for the privilege of serving the community.

One of our carers is an invalid pensioner who manages to return wildlife to the bush after their recovery. She doesn’t turn up in a flash vehicle.

They’re just everyday people out there at the coal face, saving money and the wildlife.

This move will evolve into yet another government agency and more taxes.
