To call Shuan Hern Lee a prodigy is an understatement.

The son of two pianists was a semi-finalist on Australia’s Got Talent at seven years old.

At 14, he was invited to enrol in a Music Specialist degree at the University of WA.

Now, at 16, Shuan Hern has won the Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition in Dallas, Texas, the 14th international piano competition victory of his career.

He walked away with the $15,000 first prize by wowing the judging panel with his performance of Rachmaninoff’s Concerto No.3 in D minor, accompanied by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
